Welcome!

My name is Beatrix, my friends call me Bea! I was born and spent my school years, in Vienna, Austria. There I’ve had my apprenticeship as a retail saleswoman, which I successfully completed. I am the mother of two wonderful, loving children, son and daughter, whom I accompanied throughout their childhood, school years of education, and prepared them for life.

 I worked in retail for many years, but my ambition and curiosity drove me to pursue further study. My love for animals have led me to decision not only to be there for them but also to help in times of need and illness.

So I completed my training as a veterinary assistant.

 In March of 2022, for the first time in a long-time we have visited my husband's friend, who lives on the island of Madeira. Overwhelmed by island’s beauty, warmth, humid climate with many hours of sunshine, we have made a decision to slow down and pay more attention to my husband's health.

 However, my decision to live on the island brought with it great challenges, with my autoimmune Hashimoto's disease, accompanied by celiac disease and lactose intolerance, how to maintain my diet as I did before in Austria while on the island. I failed to find the same types of flour that I had used for many years to cook and bake my delicious sweets and pastries.

 So I have contacted the management at Mantler Mühle company to inquire if it was possible to deliver their range of Gluten Free flours to Madeira. To my great joy, I received confirmation that it was.

This gave me an idea that I could not only help myself but also many others affected like me. I founded a company here under the name of SCQ-Comercio Unipessoal LDA. Through further discussions and personal acquaintance with the owner, Mrs. Mantler, I established an import bridge for Mantler Mühle gluten-free flour and gluten-free baking mixes from Austria to Portugal and Madeira.

 It makes me very happy to have made this possible for the people of Madeira, to obtain quality gluten-free flour, tested by the Austrian Coeliac Society.

 I’ll be happy to share my experiences, as well as many recipes with you!
